100 years active in real estate
One hundred years of history is quite something and what a lot has happened in that time. For example, did you know that Van der Vorm has had a large share in post-war housing construction? In 1919, Van der Vorm was founded by the Van der Vorm family, originally as a construction company.
In the 1960s, Van der Vorm played a major role in the development of the Crabbehof neighborhood in Dordrecht. In this district, Van der Vorm built the shopping center and many homes with gas pumps. The shopping center with a size of 8,500m2
and approximately 200 apartments, Van der Vorm Vastgoed has had it as an investment for many years.
Delivering the first of 86 single-family homes in the Sterrenburg project (Dordrecht), Van der Vorm completed the 500,000th building of all homes built after the war on January 23, 1973. Amid widespread interest, the then Minister Udink handed over the key to these homes to the new residents. To illustrate the scale of post-World War II reconstruction: at the time the 500,000th postwar home was delivered, the entire housing stock of (the most densely built) province of South Holland consisted of 1 million homes.
Meanwhile, Van der Vorm Vastgoed has grown into a private real estate company based in Rotterdam with an (inter)national real estate portfolio consisting of homes, stores, offices, hotels and parking garages. In addition, Van der Vorm Vastgoed develops for the benefit of its own portfolio. Van der Vorm Vastgoed invests in real estate in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England and Poland.
