How do you select the best tenants?
Sometimes we look beyond financial security when selecting tenants. While we obviously have income requirements, we also think it's important to create stable and welcoming neighborhoods.
We strive to balance business considerations with building a close-knit community. This means we look for tenants who not only meet the financial criteria, but can also make a positive contribution to the neighborhood.
Brian Martens, development manager at Van der Vorm Vastgoed, says: "A great example is our project on the roof of shopping center de Kopermolen in the Merenwijk. Here we will soon place eight sustainable tiny houses within the social rental sector. Because of the great interest and the specific nature of the project, where forming a community and affinity with (vegetable) gardening is a requirement, we ask applicants for a motivation. This gives potential tenants the chance to show their enthusiasm and increases their chances of finding a home. This approach has benefits for both tenants and the neighborhood. It creates a diverse and engaged community, which contributes to a pleasant living environment for everyone."
