Tiny milestone for Copper Mill Leiden
The first Tiny houses were placed on the roof of the de Kopermolen shopping center in Leiden this week! With the realization of eight Tiny houses on the roof of shopping center de Kopermolen , Leiden is gaining a new form of living. This unique project contributes to a more sustainable and cohesive community in the Merenwijk. Brian Martens (Development Manager Van der Vorm Vastgoed) told more about it on Radio West.
The Tiny houses exceed the current BENG standard in terms of sustainability. They are made of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), an innovative and environmentally friendly building material. The houses are almost entirely prefabricated in a factory in Sliedrecht and will be completed on site. After that, the landscape architect/gardener will landscape the area and we will then deliver the cottages to the new residents.
The homes are socially rented to people willing to actively contribute to the community, such as by maintaining a vegetable garden or supporting neighborhood activities.
