Our forward thinker, bridge builder, connector and inspiration Sico has retired!
After 22 years at Van der Vorm Vastgoed, Sico van Ammers is going to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. With Sico you never worked a bit together. He pushed, challenged, questioned, thought further. Often miles further. Big ideas, sometimes unorthodox, always looking ahead. With a special mix of creativity, guts and analytical sharpness. His creative spirit is now enjoying a well-deserved rest.
Sico was always working on the bigger picture. Others saw obstacles; Sico saw possibilities. An old office tower in Delft? Under his leadership now a residential tower full of life. A sketch for Brainpark? His pen strokes gave rise to a completely new way of thinking about area development. Projects by Van der Vorm Vastgoed such as Delft Hoog, Harvest, De Kopermolen, Valley Towers and many others bear his signature. Sico loves the grand gesture: "The outlines! That's what it's all about."
Stones were the foundation for Sico, but people were the starting point. He was for real estate that connects people, with green gardens, community spaces and sustainable innovations. When others thought they weren't feasible Sico made it happen.
Giving people and teams the confidence, challenging them to look a little further. Sico has made many colleagues grow. Often they didn't realize it until later. Colleagues describe Sico as a mentor, someone who kept you on your toes, sparked new insights. And with his humor and willfulness always dared to think just a little bit in a different direction.
Thus, with his style and ideas, he has left an important mark on our beautiful company. And perhaps even more important: the ideas, the way of thinking, the daring to dream big and outside the box: that remains.
Sico, thank you for your vision, your sharpness, your humor and your energy. Thank you for your leadership, your guts and your tireless efforts! Thank you for all you have meant to our organization, our projects and all those people who were privileged to work with you. We wish you, along with your wife, children and grandchildren, a warm, valuable and loving retirement!
