A significant step toward an even safer and more pleasant shopping environment at De Hoven
Today, business owners, property owners, the municipality, and safety partners joined forces to launch a collaborative initiative aimed at keeping the shopping center safe, welcoming, and attractive for visitors, employees, and business owners.
Jorian Broekmeijer (Asset Manager at Van der Vorm Vastgoed) explains: “With the introduction of the collective ban on shopping, all participating parties are expressing a single, clear goal: to work together to create an environment where nuisance, aggression, and shoplifting have no place.”
During the event, Councilwoman Maaike Zwart symbolically affixed the first sticker to a participating store. This makes it clear which businesses are taking part in this joint initiative.
Thanks to this partnership, participating stores can respond more quickly in the event of disturbances or disruptive behavior. Business owners are notified immediately via a secure app, allowing them to take effective action within clear privacy and security guidelines.
According to the Center for Crime Prevention and Safety (CCV), this approach has been shown to contribute to a safer and more pleasant shopping environment.
With this step, De Hoven has become the 15th indoor shopping center in the Netherlands to implement this form of collective collaboration. It’s a great example of how collaboration helps create a safe and pleasant place for everyone.
